Dear Dahlia is a trend-conscious makeup brand which has broken the misconception that natural makeup has to compromise on performance or style. I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the first ones to try out this Korean cosmetics brand! 🙂 I’ve been using it for around 3 weeks and I can finally write my review. First off, can I just say that aesthetics wise I’d give it 100/100 ? Packaging is classy, sleek, elegant, and most importantly it’s very durable. The well thought of package design also gives you the convenience of not having to bring too many products when you’re on-the-go with their duo-palettes (yes, complete with mirror!).
The main selling point of this brand is that it prides itself for being all natural, cruelty-free, and vegan — Dear Dahlia products are made from the highest quality natural ingredients- free from toxic synthetic chemicals and are infused with Dahlia Flower Extract that contain Vitamin C and Antioxidants. These substances are fundamental elements for a youthful and glowing skin.
If you have highly sensitive skin or just want natural ingredients touching your skin, you might want to try these! I also love the fact that the products have close to zero fragrance (it has a very slight lavander scent which I didn’t even notice at first).
The price point is quite steep compared to other make-up brands however, given the quality; I think it’s a very good investment — you will really get what you pay for. That being said, here are my thoughts about some of the products I was able to try.
Skin Paradise Blooming Cushion
Being a huge cushion fan, I was very excited to try this! I think I have tried around 15+/- cushion brands already and believe me, this is on my ‘Top Cushions List!’. I’m going to be honest here, I wasn’t really expecting much from this brand — but I think it went well and far, far beyond my expectations.
First of all, the design is hygienic. You only dispense what you need. Second, you can buy refills (I hate that some brands don’t offer refills and I get stuck with too many empty cases which I don’t even want to throw out cause I feel like I’m wasting money, lol). They also sell separate anti-bacterial puffs (yay!), if you’re a bit of a germophobe or just lazy to keep on washing your puff.
Texture is light and doesn’t have an annoying ashy/grey cast despite having an SPF PA 35+++. I have oily skin and it worked wonderfully well with my loose powder. It kept my oil in control throughout the entire day. Keep in mind though that the coverage is sheer/light so if you have a lot of blemishes you want to cover, you have to use concealer first. However, it’s also quite buildable — I tried 2 layers and it still looked like I had nothing on! No make-up, make-up look, achieved! I went for a 3rd and 4th layer and it was still looking good (but now it’s a bit more noticeable). It also doesn’t set in my creases (double yay!).
Available in 4 shades Nude Beige, Natural Beige, Soft Sand, and Peach Ivory — Php 2,500. * Refill is at Php 1,400
PS: They also have Skin Paradise Sun Cushion if you just need SPF protection and to even out your skin tone. I haven’t tried this though! 🙂
Lip Paradise Intense Satin | Php 1,500
Naturally conditions lips with antioxidant-enriched dahlia variabilis extract; nourishing ECOCERT certified organic oils and butters creates rich hydration and a satin-y texture; highly pigmented formula moisturizes to banish dryness and flaking; enriched with lightweight rice bran wax instead of beeswax to ensure long-lasting smooth saturation of intense color with a single coat; rich and creamy texture gently and continuously wraps your lips; protects from ultraviolet rays; free from nano particles, sulfate, parabens, PEGs, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, EU/USA banned color pigments, and animal ingredients
I got the shades Marilyn (L), and Lucy (R). These are highly pigmented with a very creamy texture. It also stays on for a long time (leaves a tint even if you wipe it off) — I’m a tint girl so this is a big plus for me! If you’re not used to wearing lipsticks like me, you will feel it on your lips however, it doesn’t feel dry or too heavy 🙂 It’s also available in a very wide range of colors to match and liven up every skin tone!

Soft hues for that natural look.
This palette gives you a beautiful coral overall look. I use the shimmery part as a highlighter and it looks SO NATURAL. I know how sometimes you just want to highlight your face till there’s no tomorrow, right? But sometimes it’s also nice to just have this natural dewy look (no one will notice you have a highlighter on with this one!). My officemates even complimented me saying how dewy my skin was (hehe, gotchu there).
Concealer Duos which are at Php 1,900. I haven’t tried this so I can’t give you my review but it claims to “leave a nourishing velvet-matte finish; infused with dahlia variabilis flower extract for naturally perfect, healthy-looking skin; creamy, blendable formula can be used with or without a brush; includes 2 shades that can be used to conceal, highlight, and contour; free from nano particles, sulfate, parabens, PEGs, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, EU/USA banned color pigments, and animal ingredients.”
Hope you enjoyed this post! 🙂
