I was introduced to this product thanks to my good friend Farrah who gave me one as a present when she flew to Korea. I received shade #09 Lovely Apeach initially and loved it ever since!
Recently, while I was lurking around online, I saw that The Face Shop Philippines had already launched the Kakao x The Face Shop Collaboration! Obviously I bought two more, lol! So sad that the other shades aren’t available anymore — but my wallet is a bit happy, lol. It’s very affordable though as opposed to other brands as it costs only Php 395 !
Got #13 Sweet Tube (Kakao) and #05 Corail Gel (regular)
Kakao Edition has 5 shades (but only two were available in the shop I went to) and the regular ones have more shades to choose from. What’s the difference between the Kakao Edition and Regular ones? — the packaging! I mean, come on! packaging is everything, right?
Aside from it’s creamy but not too glossy texture, another thing I love about this is that I can easily tell which shade is which just by looking at the caps. It’s very lightweight and comes in a twist type cap which eliminates the risk of it getting all over your bag/pouch/etc.
I can only think of one con for this and that it’s really, really soft so if you accidentally apply heavily/pressure the shape gets ruined, lol. That explains the third one (right most, hehe — too excited to apply). Other than that, it’s a great product! Staying power isn’t that long unlike the matte lippies but it doesn’t bother me since I can just reapply easily. It has a tendency to get into my straw/utensils too but it’s really not much of a big deal for me 🙂
Tip: I use this as a cheek tint too! Pigment is great so make sure you use only a little as it can get a bit sticky when applied in a thick layer.
Shade #13 — Sweet Tube is my current fave!
Hope you enjoyed this short review! ^u^
